Graduate Training

The Center for Research on Ingredient Safety at Michigan State University leverages our knowledge to train the next generation of food and ingredient experts. We’ve developed a graduate program with the goal to prepare students to:

  • participate as government scientists in the development and implementation of regulatory and public health policy.
  • become the next generation of educators to address ingredient safety.
  • serve the consumer products industry as specially trained industrial toxicologists.

This graduate program in Environmental and Integrative Toxicological Sciences (EITS) provides doctoral training in food and ingredient safety. The EITS Program, in conjunction with CRIS, provides customized education in mechanisms of toxicity, ingredient safety, regulatory and public health policy and risk assessment.

For more information on how to enroll in the EITS program, please contact John Lapres, EITS Graduate Program Director by emailing lapres@msu.edu or calling (517) 432-9282.
